Meet Malcolm Patey

Malcolm Patey was born in Harberton at Westleigh Barton and has worked on the family farm all his life, rearing dairy herds and beef stock. In 1995 he went into pig farming, and subsequently started supplying local shops and residents with a range of home produced or locally sourced meat. His cattle and sheep range outside on grass for most of the year, and his pigs live free range in paddocks. The animals are slaughtered locally at Tom Lang's in Ashburton.
